Clinical Training Program (Interns and Residents)

  • List of Programs
    Conservative dentistry, prosthodontics, oral and maxiliofacial surgery, orthodontics, pedodontics, periodontics, dental radiology, oral medicine and oral diagnosis.
  • Trainee Physician: A physician in a training program who treats patients following a plan set up by a training hospital.
  • Training Program Goal: The goal of the intern training program is to develop basic clinical diagnosis and treatment capability while the resident program aims to have the trainees attain specialist qualifications by acquiring high-level knowledge,diagnosis and treatment skills in the relevant field, and other related medical knowledge.
  • Trainee Physicians’ Responsibilities: Trainee physicians undertake training according to a prescribed training program, and receive a fixed pay for treating patients. Trainee physicians must do their utmost to conscientiously treat patients, based on professionalism and ethics expected of physicians. Moreover, they must be diligent in carrying out the hospital and relevant department’s training and patient treatment schedule, as well as abide by the terms of the training agreement and hospital regulations.
  • Qualifications and Appointment Process: From candidates with a legally valid dental physician’s license, the head of the hospital appoints interns within the authorized number. From candidates who have completed intern programs at a domestic training hospital, the head of the hospital appoints residents within the authorized number per each department.
  • Training Completion: Upon completion of prescribed training program, trainee physicians receive a certificate of training signed by the head of the hospital and the director of training (research).
Comprehensive Treatment Department
  • Qualifications
    Graduates or expected graduates of dental school with a dental physician’s license.
  • Education Program
    A two year program in which students acquire basic clinical knowledge and operating skills in all areas of dentistry.
    Lectures and practical training for students to learn the latest clinical operation skills.
  • Class Size
    Ten to twelve students per each class, maintaining a maximum of 22 and minimum of 18.
    May request the dental hospital or the College of Dentistry faculty to give lectures needed for education and training on a fee-based basis.
