General competency as
dental professionals
A1. make appropriate clinical decision, as professionals, on the basis of medical ethics.
A2. effectively communicate with patients, their parents or guardians, and colleagues with mutual respect.
A3. contribute to community oral healthcare with social responsibility.
A4. conduct evidence-based decision making utilizing scientific information and resources.
Clinical knowledge and skills B1. understand the underlying biological etiology of disease and find its clinical relevance.
B2. establish treatment and/or referral plans based on the assessment of patient’s general health conditions for the safety of dental care.
B3. understand the characteristics of biomaterials for oral & maxillofacial area and properly apply them to clinical practice.
B4. make a differential diagnosis of oral & maxillofacial pathology.
B5. take oral and maxillofacial radiographs with safety and interpret the results.
B6. perform basic surgical procedures in oral & maxillofacial area and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B7. diagnose, prevent and treat oral & maxillofacial diseases in children and adolescents, and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B8. evaluate, diagnose and treat dental caries and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B9. evaluate, diagnose and treat endodontic diseases and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B10. evaluate, diagnose and treat periodontal diseases and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B11. evaluate, diagnose the malocclusion, take preventive measures and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B12. establish prosthodontic treatment plans including dental implants, conduct appropriate treatment, and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B13. evaluate, diagnose and treat orofacial pain and oral soft tissue diseases to manage dental pain and make referral to specialists when indicated.
B14. provide preventive measures to maintain and improved patients’ oral health.
B15. manage the patients’ medical records and to assess the clinical outcomes of dental treatment.
Clinical management C1. understand and observe the ethics and regulations related to the patient care.
